Project Passport Paraguay- Amigos de las Americas (1-30-2025)

  • When will the trip take place? Flight info.

    The scholars will leave June 17 and return on July 28, 2025.

    Scholars will fly from Chicago O’Hare to Ausuncion, Paraguauy.  Specific flight information has not been determined.

  • What can scholars do to prepare for the trip?

    This program is run in conjunction with Amigos de las Americas.  Amigos requires that all scholars attend the following trainings in Chicago, IL.

    TRAINING CALENDAR

    Sunday, February 23 from 10AM-4PM – Kick-off meeting and Retreat. Parents are required to attend a portion of the event. 

    Saturday, March 1 time TBD – Service Learning-

    Tuesday, March 4 from 6-8PM – Training

    Sunday, April 6 time TBD – Service Learning 

    Tuesday, April 15 from 6-8PM – Training

    Sunday, May 4 time TBD – Service Learning Service Learning

    Tuesday, May 20 from 6-8PM – Training

    Sunday, June 1 from 10AM-1PM – Going Away Party. Parents are invited to attend a portion of the event.

    The Kick-off and Retreat, training sessions, and Going Away Party will take place at Haymarket House (800 W Buena Ave, Chicago, IL 60613). Please note that the entrance is off of Clarendon Avenue, and parking in the lot is limited. There is free street parking on the surrounding blocks.

  • What is the cost of the program?

    The program costs well over $5,000.  GRCS alum are expected to pay or raise $1,000 for this trip.

    Payments should be paid on the following schedule:

    February 1, 2025, $200

    Feburary 15, 2025- $200

    March 15, 2025- $200

    April 15, 2025- $200

    May 15, 2025- $200
